4th of July: Happy Independence Day
Dear Readers,
Happy Fourth of July!
For those non-US folks, please indulge me here today (I know there are many of you - thank you for being a part of the Mannatech vision!). We Americans are celebrating a very important holiday for us - our national Independence Day.
You see, July 4th has become a day from which we take a break from the normal routines.
May I suggest that we also take the time to re-evaluate our dedication to the higher principle of exercising and preserving our individual freedoms, liberties and unalienable rights which are the cornerstones of our communities?
Our founding fathers articulated these self-evident truths into a document called The Declaration of Independence. Every now and then we need to be reminded of these truths. Scroll down to review a transcript of this inspired document.

The Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. -- Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain [George III] is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by the Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

Memorial Day '06: What is a Vet?
On this Memorial Day of 2006, no matter your opinion, please take a moment to remember the true heroes, those who have protected our freedoms.
I am speaking of the fine men and women of our military. They are why we are here today, able to have this discussion in the first place.

WHAT IS A VET
Some veterans bear visible signs of their service: a missing limb, a jagged scar, a certain look in the eye. Others may carry the evidence inside them: a pin holding a bone together, a piece of shrapnel in the leg - or perhaps another sort of inner steel: the soul's ally forged in the refinery of adversity. Except in parades, however, the men and women who have kept America safe wear no badge or emblem. You can't tell a vet just by looking. What is a vet?
He is the cop on the beat who spent six months in Iraq sweating two gallons a day making sure the armored personnel carriers didn't run out of fuel.
He is the barroom loudmouth, dumber than five wooden planks, whose overgrown frat-boy behavior is outweighed a hundred times in the cosmic scales by four hours of exquisite bravery near the 38th parallel.
They are the nurse who fought against futility and went to sleep sobbing every night for two solid years in Da Nang.
He is the POW who went away one person and came back another-or didn't come back AT ALL.
He is the Quantico drill instructor who has never seen combat-but has saved countless lives by turning slouchy, no-account rednecks and gang members into Marines, and teaching them to watch each other's backs.
He is the parade-riding Legionnaire who pins on his ribbons and medals with a prosthetic hand.
He is the career quartermaster who watches the ribbons and medals pass him by.
He is the three anonymous heroes in The Tomb Of The Unknowns, whose presence at the Arlington National Cemetery must forever preserve the memory of all the anonymous heroes whose valor dies unrecognized with them on the battlefield or in the ocean's sunless deep.
He is the old guy bagging groceries at the supermarket-palsied now and aggravatingly slow-who helped liberate a Nazi death camp and who wishes all day long that his wife were still alive to hold him when the nightmares come.
He is an ordinary and yet an extraordinary human being-a person who offered some of his life's most vital years in the service of his country, and who sacrificed his ambitions so others would not have to sacrifice theirs.
He is a soldier and a savior and a sword against the darkness, and he is nothing more than the finest, greatest testimony on behalf of the finest, greatest nation ever known.
So remember, each time you see someone who has served our country, just lean over and say Thank You. That's all most people need, and in most cases it will mean more than any medals they could have been awarded or were awarded.
Two little words that mean a lot, "THANK YOU."

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Dear Rhino Report readers,
Greetings! It has been way too long since my last email to readers. I hope that this email finds you well!
I have been blessed to have built up my Mannatech business to a point where I can step back for a time and still receive the residual income from it. Because of that, I decided to take some time off and refocus on some other important parts of my life for a time. It has turned out to be a good move.
Over the last few months, I've been able to watch my beautiful little girl, Emma Maria, become a strong willed, personality filled 18 month old on her way to her terrible twos. I've been so blessed to participate in this part of her growth. She's just like a sponge, absorbing the life experience around her and learning from it. She is truly her "daddy's girl".
I have re-dedicated myself to my volunteer work. My passion is in the political arena and am Treasurer of the local county party and for a local candidate for County Commissioner. This work gives me great satisfaction and allows me to give back to my local community in a very unique way.
Some entrepreneural opporunities came their way as I recently took over a small graphic design firm working in partnership with a local commercial printer. This situation was too good for me to pass up. In a previous life I was a magazine publisher and this new situation gives me a springboard toward my return to the field.
Its ironic that the name of my former magazine was called In Balance Magazine because that is what I feel is happening for me right now, that my life is getting back into balance. I needed the chance to reflect on and start applying the lessons I learned from the trials and tribulations of the past three years.
My heart will always be with the Mannatech mission. I've learned that life parallels that mission in that we are here with a servant's heart to lift up others. I have been blessed to help so many people, physically and personally, grow and change and improve. How could I leave that?
Its funny, it took the graphic design business to make me realize the power of Mannatech residual income. I moved myself, as Robert Kiyosaki refers to it, into the "Self Employment" quadrant. This means time is money and if I don't produce, I don't get paid. That's not the case with my Mannatech income. I guess I always took it for granted.
It has been 12 years with Mannatech making enough to be respectable and yet too low to retire. I wasn't "presidential" yet but I did "OK". I never quit, right? I always stayed in the game. But yet... something was missing.
So I've begun to realize that the missing link is making the commitment to win. I've always touted myself as the NeverNeverQuit guy but never quitting the game and actually winning in the game are two different attitudes.
I am continuing to learn but this time I am COMMITTED to being in the game and winning. Not only in Mannatech but in life. I even went out and bought the website www.committowin.com. It will re-direct you to the Rhino Report blog. But a website doth not make a winner. A commitment to winning does. And that is where we will begin again.
I will be getting back into the groove of Mannatech and prospecting over the next few months. I have been VERY impressed with the recent developments with Bob Anderson and Mike Klingler and their Eagles Club program. They have been holding down the fort for me while I've been away. Rhino Report: Start Shoveling!

Start Shoveling!
Shortly after my wife and I moved into our house, there was a large snowfall on the East Coast that left about 30 inches of snow on our front walkway.
The path is about 35 feet, and when I first went out to survey the situation, the task of shoveling it seemed monumental. I immediately thought, "This is going to take
forever!"
I stood there for about 30 seconds looking at what I had to do, feeling more than a bit discouraged. Then, I picked up my shovel and started digging into the snow. I was moving at a pretty good clip and fortunately, the snow was fairly soft. About ten minutes later, I took a short break and noticed that I had made a significant dent in the job. I could actually see significant progress, which gave me the
momentum to get right back at it.
About 30 minutes into the job, I had completed almost half of the walkway. I also surveyed what was left to do, but unlike 30 minutes ago, I could now see the end in sight. This further motivated me to keep shoveling vigorously. About one hour into the job, I had completed the entire walkway! I felt a tremendous surge of energy and was ready to shovel some more. You've probably felt a similar exhilaration after completing a major project. In the end, however, I decided that I had done enough and took a well-deserved rest.
After sitting inside for a few minutes, I realized that the shoveling project had a lot to teach me about the path to achieving our objectives and realizing our cherished dreams.
Most importantly, I realized the importance of starting any project with a head of steam. I'm not a big believer in the often-used phrase, "beginning is winning." In my experience, persevering is winning. However, beginning is the crucial first step if you want to achieve any goal or explore new avenues. It's so important to start energetically, because you can look up after a relatively short period of time and
see progress. That gives you the momentum to keep moving forward.
This isn't to suggest that you should avoid planning and rush into your project with wild abandon. Definitely do your research. But when you do begin, leave the starting blocks strongly and quickly. It's a lot more effective than dipping your toe in the water. When you dive into the water, you feel exhilarated and you're already in motion. When you stick your toe in, you hesitate and tend to remain stationery for long periods of time.
Of course, the worst thing you can do is to keep talking about what you're going to do, while taking no action. Sadly, this is the approach many people take. They are
caught in the trap of "Someday, I'll...." You know how that goes:
Someday, I'll begin the exercise program...
Someday, I'll take a trip to Hawaii...
Someday, I'll go back to school to get my degree...
Someday, I'll write a book...
Someday, I'll do some acting or singing...
"Someday, I'll..." drains your energy and keeps you stuck. How much more effective to pick up the shovel and start shoveling! Thus, instead of talking about exercising, you start exercising. Instead of talking about going back to school, you register for classes. Instead of talking about writing a book, you sit at your computer, develop an outline and start writing.
When you pick up the shovel and start shoveling as soon as you can, you get another benefit. You achieve your objective in less time than you initially thought was possible. Let's say you want to take a trip to Hawaii "some day." You may have had this desire for years. Each time the thought enters your mind, you dwell on all the obstacles in your way. You don't have the time. You don't have the money. So, you file the thought away, hoping you can take the trip "some day."
Here's a better way to make sure you take that trip to Hawaii - and sooner than you think. Today, start investigating the Hawaiian trip as if you were going to be traveling there immediately. Find out the airlines that go there. Check out the air fares, including any special discounts being offered. Go online and check out the hotels or places you could rent during your visit. While online, you could look at pictures of Hawaii and learn all about the islands, which would get you even more excited. You're
shoveling fast and furious now!
Several things will happen as a result of your shoveling. You may find that the trip is more affordable than you originally thought. Or, you might be so excited that you will find a way to earn the extra money you need to pay for the trip. You might even open a "vacation account" at the bank and start putting away funds to make your dream come true. You see, you're now actively thinking about Hawaii and the ways to make the vacation possible - instead of thinking about all the obstacles in your way.
When you start shoveling, you become actively engaged in creating the result you want. You generate enthusiasm and momentum. You might face roadblocks, but you're able to get around them.
Many of us don't pick up the shovel because we fear that we're not ready to go after our dream. We want everything to line up in perfect order so we'll have a clear path, with no unexpected detours, no criticism and no disappointments. You'll rarely find any situation with perfect conditions. That's just an excuse for never starting. When your heart and mind are actively engaged and you're on fire about achieving something, you are simultaneously directing your subconscious mind to find out a way to get it for you. And the subconscious mind will get the job done for you, usually
in miraculous ways.
So, are there any goals or dreams where you have been delaying or failing to take action? If so, put on your boots, dig in and start shoveling... today!

With few exceptions, EVERYONE must grow personally in order to grow their income and live their dreams with Mannatech. But we are here to assist you as a team confronting the challenges together!
Eagles should be active QuantumLeapNow members, and commit to purchasing 80 Eagle Club leads per day for 30 days (with a verbal commitment of 3 months for training). You could find a partner and do 40 each per day. But you should do no less than 40. If done properly, at your early stage of training, you should move very quickly through the list because as with nearly all lead types, expensive or inexpensive, you will not reach 80% of them due to voice mail, busy signal, etc. So you can train with 80 leads per day easily on a part time basis when you are in our training. You will learn to ‘spot’ the good prospects quickly as you become more and more comfortable with who you are in the process.
These leads are 12 cents apiece, and are used to ‘cut your teeth’ for training purposes. They are inexpensive so you do not get emotionally attached. We use this high quantity so that you learn how to quickly move forward and become conditioned to realize that it is about the process of connecting with the ‘right’ people, instead of chasing or convincing those who are difficult to reach.
After a 3 month commitment, you will be ready to contact more qualified and expensive lead types with efficiency and confidence.
You will learn in this process how to also develop your OSP (Opportunity Seeking Perception) and start to confidently spot good prospects everywhere you go. We are providing training on this as well!
You will become a master prospector.

“I've been calling the 12-cent leads as well as the $5.96 Cutting Edge Media leads. It's too early to say for sure which is the best, but it appears that the responses are about the same.
The Eagles Club membership has helped me a lot (examples below).
I'm significantly more comfortable (relaxed) now as a prospector, and can more quickly evaluate (qualify) a person on the other end of the telephone.
I start the qualification process before the lead answers the call. These are some examples of how I now qualify a prospect. [Jim borrowed some of these ideas but more importantly, has created many of these ‘qualifications for prospects’ on his own from what he has learned as an Eagle].
1. The ring on the phone must be loud and clear (no static) with no kinky voice or music instructions. I'll leave a message only if it meets (my) criteria.
2. Those with no voice mail (I wait for eight rings and take that as "no voice mail") are never recalled. I take this sign as they probably don't have three way calling either and aren't in the 21st century yet, communication wise.
3. When I hear "The number you have reached"...... I hang up right then. It takes too much valuable time for the message to inform me that the phone has been disconnected. These are never recalled.
4. The repetitive nature of the Eagle training is key. You guys tell us, show us, do it with us, and constantly check back to see how we are doing. There has never never (Moses), been a better method of instruction developed than this technique.
5. I've learned that it is going to take some time to grow the downline. To this point, I've learned about the law of the numbers and qualifying people. I must now (over the next month) learn how to get leads to the fourth step and make a decision.
6. Headlights and windshield wipers were put on cars so a person could travel at night when it was raining. We must do the same with prospecting.
7. I think in the long run, the QLNow web site will prove to be so much better than prospecting with an individual web site. Namely, because of the capability to bring leads into the coral and hold them long enough to put your own brand on them. With an individual web site, it is impossible to hold it high enough in the standing (landing pages) to accumulate significant hits. There, I would be one among thousands. In the Eagles Club, the lead is one among 2,400 per thirty days. It's the lead, not me, that occupies a spot in a downline. Leads (prospects), the QLNow system, and never ending training all coupled together will carry Eagles to the winner's circle.
8. I was surprised to learn that maybe five or six leads out of eighty might make it to my QLNow landing page. And, one out of those five would rise to the surface as the best prospect, and possibly upgrade to an advantage member.
9. I've changed. In a nutshell, I'm thrilled about learning so much about the prospecting landscape, where the rubber meets the road, and that's what a person must do to progress. Hey guys, progress automatically means change. Realizing that I've changed assures me that I've made some progress.... If my skin still fit exactly as it did a month ago, I'd be seriously concerned. I would believe that I hadn't progressed.
10. I've learned what kind of questions to ask and how to ask them. This was the most difficult thing for me to do because I once felt that I might displease the prospect and they would hang-up. If they do (hang-up), I now know that they have (dis)qualified themselves.”
